Counseling Department Staff
Mrs. Linke: 6-12 School Counselor
I have been working with children and families for over 35 years and in education for 25 years. My husband is the Director of DC and Fleet Operations at Earl May in Shenandoah. We live on a farm and raise cattle, corn and soybeans. We have two kids - our son and daughter-in-law are both instrumental music teachers and keep busy with their three boys and our daughter is a science teacher who also raises meat sheep, chickens, and Kune Kune pigs. I love to spend time outdoors and hanging with my family. I'm always up for an adventure.
As the 6-12 School Counselor, I help students with academic planning, career pathways, and post high school plans including navigating tech programs and colleges.
Mrs. Franklin: K-6 Student Support
This is my tenth year in education. I have taught in 3rd, 5th, and 6th grades during my career.
I am married and have two wonderful children who attend East Mills Elementary. My family and I moved to Malvern in 2021. I enjoy spending time outside hiking, biking, or just playing with my family. I am also an avid reader.
My role is in Elementary Student Support. I work with students and families to support students academically and emotionally. I also teach social and emotional learning classes to all students in grades Pre-K through 5. I love what I do and love working with students to help them be successful.
Mr. Holman: School Interventionist
I have been working in education for over 20 years and have been at East Mills as the School Interventionist since 2016. My wife works in finance and we have two awesome kids. I love sports and my favorite teams are the Huskers and the Raiders. I love to golf and spend time with my family and friends.
As the School Interventionist I support students in personal and social emotional aspects. I enjoy working with students in multiple areas and watching them grow into young adults.
Deputy Farnan: School Resource Officer
I have been in law enforcement for over 20 years and have been the SRO (School Resource Officer) at East Mills since 2018. My wife works in city administration/finance and we have two daughters. I enjoy camping, fishing, spending time with my family and cheering on the KC Chiefs! I have a bachelor's degree in Security Management and am also an instructor for Armed Intruder Response with both the ALERRT and Alice organizations. I enjoy interacting with the students and teaching them about different areas of safety.
At the elementary students learn about bus, bike, and internet safety as well as being safe at social activities both at school and in the community. At the Jr Sr high school I teach students about traffic safety, distracted driving, and the dangers of illegal substances.
